Recruitment: DRC & CAR Programme Officer
The Women's Initiatives for Gender Justice is recruiting a new DRC/CAR Programme Officer to be based in its Kampala office (previously based in The Hague). This crucial position will grow the Women’s Initiatives’ DRC programme, active since 2006, and will work with our active network of 147 local and grass roots women’s and human rights organisations and key partners striving for greater accountability for sexual and gender-based crimes in conflict torn Eastern DRC; expanding the SGBV documentation programme; monitoring of DRC cases before the ICC and domestically; further advocacy through the use of our gender justice advocacy video; provision of medical and other support to victims/survivors of SGBV; monitoring of gender mobile courts, as well as further build our programmes and networks in the Central African Republic (CAR).

Recruitment: Legal Internships
The Women's Initiatives for Gender Justice regularly offers three month legal internships in The Hague. Prospective interns should be law or graduate students with a strong background in international law, strong legal research skills, and a good knowledge of the International Criminal Court (ICC). The internship also requires fluency in written and spoken English. Additional French and/or Arabic language skills are an asset. The legal internship is full-time, however for exceptional candidates based in The Netherlands, part-time internships may be a possibility.
Legal interns will make an essential contribution to the work of the Women’s Initiatives for Gender Justice’s Legal Team. Tasks may include: monitoring, summarising, and analysing filings, decisions, and proceedings of the ICC; research projects on the work of the Court and issues of gender justice and international criminal law; contributions to our strategic events and programme work; basic English/French translations; and some administrative work. The legal internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge about the work of the Women’s Initiatives for Gender Justice and the work of the ICC.
